Biography

Mr. Lincoln is a founding partner of the California and Nevada offices. A native of Nebraska, Mr. Lincoln attended San Diego State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with highest honors in 1977. Following his graduation from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1980, he served as a prosecutor with the San Diego City Attorney’s Office before entering private practice.

Mr. Lincoln has been recognized for his outstanding trial skills by being elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He has served as an arbitrator for the State of California and the City of San Diego attorney/client dispute programs. He is currently on the faculty of the University of San Diego’s paralegal program and taught General Civil Litigation and Ethics. He has authored numerous articles and lectured on a variety of topics, including ethics (for which he is CLE approved). Mr. Lincoln has tried jury trials throughout California and Nevada. Many of his clients are high-profile and have distinctive needs. Mr. Lincoln has great success at meeting the needs of high-profile clients by being aggressive but professional at all times, as well as sensitive to the special issues such clients face. Mr. Lincoln has been nominated by his peers as a Super Lawyer for many years. Mr. Lincoln was lead trial counsel in a landmark construction defect case, Aas v. Superior Court (24 Cal. 4th 627). He has also represented clients at the appellate level in cases that have resulted in numerous published opinions, including Standard Pacific of San Diego v. A.A. Baxter Corp. (176 Cal. App. 3d 577). Mr. Lincoln also has extensive experience in advising clients concerning employment practices and in defending employment claims on behalf of employers.

Mr. Lincoln’s practice focuses on advising businesses, from start-up to long-standing, as to their legal needs including formation, risk transfer, employment issues, insurance, contracts and intellectual property. He also represents product manufacturers in product liability matters and businesses and individuals when defending personal injury matters.
